Emma Watson was on hand this morning to honor another fan who has kept the fandom alive: Robbie Coltrane.

The actress sat down with a handful of fans backstage before a show to talk about the fandom, and her relationship with the Harry Potter actor, whom she knows as “Robby.”

“Harry Potter is like a love of my life,” she said. “I still watch it with him as well. We are together, which is wonderful because I think it’s important for those who are fans to be around their heroes. I’m always happy to see the fans.”

Watson attended her first Harry Potter fan party at a house in London in 2007 and has been to many since. And while she hasn’t been to a Harry Potter play, she does visit the stores that carry books based on the series.

Watson’s love for the series was first made public in an interview with a fan magazine over three years ago and only intensified when she played Hermione in the Potter films.

“I was doing my own thing, I don’t know if you would call it a career, and I was doing it in school in drama clubs and I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I should work in a movie!’ But then I thought, I’m not that sort of actress anymore,” Watson said. “I am a singer, I am an actress, I work in a film every couple of months and I’m very lucky to have a job, and now that I have a job, I have to do the job. But I was so lucky and it was so wonderful to be in Harry Potter. I don’t think I could have been in another film right away, it would be insane. At that point I was so impressed with the amount of love that was coming from all around the world. It was a really special thing and I think it was all just magic.”
